Mrs. Katherine Hatcher
Greetings from Fulton High School! The administration, faculty, and support staff are truly committed and excited about the many happenings within our school. We have experienced much success in athletics (keep it up guys!) as well as academics. There is so much in the planning stages to soon be implemented. Two academies/learning clusters are in development for the 2008 - 2009 school year. These academies will allow our graduates to acquire skills in communications or health sciences, prepared to enter the work world with certification. We are continuing to produce students who are competing on the national level in many areas (be sure to read the news of the DECA competion below!). We are all very proud of our students and their accomplishments. We continue to strive for exellence in all areas. I invite you to visit us or contact us for any information regarding Fulton High School. Thanks to all who lend their support. |
Five students of Fulton High School have been working diligently this year to provide a little warmth. DJ Loy, Linda Branam, Audriona Johnson, Carly Denny, and Karesa Watts (not pictured) used knitting looms and donated yarn to make more than thirty baby hats for infants at St. Mary's Hospital. They have also donated a few to staff members expecting babies and grandbabies. These students of Mrs. Sandee Greene's class are proud of their work and their contribution to the community.

We are very proud of our Fulton Basketball Regional Champs!

Fulton's newest club is the Film Club, sponsored by Mr. Negendank. The club is open to all students interested in learning about the world and various social issues through films from America and abroad. Film Club meets every Thursday; a film will be viewed at every other meeting. Alternate Thursdays are used to discuss the last film viewed, and decide on the film for the following meeting. Films already viewed by club members:
Fulton also now has a PRIDE club, an organization focused on getting the word out about drug awareness, and encouraging others not to smoke or drink. Already this group is a significant presence in the community, participating in events like marching in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and the Fulton Football State Championship Parade. PRIDE has also helped out in the 2006 Baptist Hospital Turkey Trot in November, and in February of 2007 visited North Gate Terrace to host a Valentine's Day party for residents. Now PRIDE is getting ready for the big 30th annual PRIDE World Drug Prevention Conference in Charleston, West Virginia. PRIDE is an eager team looking to help others in need, and is seeking new members to help spread the word.
Back to top of pageCongratulations to the Theatre and Choral departments; the Fulton Spring Musical, Into the Woods (April 26 - 28) was a phenomenal success!
March was YOUTH ART MONTH in Tennessee. To recognize it,the Art department at Fulton displayed student art work in the library. Mrs Vance's students gave each teacher a tooled metal picture, and Ms. Kemper's students made woven bookmarks for them.
Spring has been very busy for the Fulton Band, featuring a major fund raiser at Kroger at the Broadway shopping center, a chicken BBQ Dinner, and a trip to Carowinds Theme Park in Charlotte, NC. The students did very well--Fulton was the highest rated high school band at this competitive event! The band performed its Winter Concert here at Fulton on March 8, and the spring concert on May 8; both were very successful. The band also had a very successful tour of our middle school feeder programs on April 24.
The Fulton Band is already in preparation for next year's marching band program. Our new associate director, Mrs. M. J. Robinson, is doing a great deal to help make next year successful. Our show is a latin jazz show. Our enrollment should be up a bit next season, especially in our flag corp. We are planning on charting 16 flags and about 25 winds and percussion. Mr. Ross is very proud of all of the students involved in the band program.
The Fulton Library still has past issues of the Fulton Annual for sale. Still available:
